When You Arrive

Please plan to arrive promptly at the time you were told by our nurse. After you have registered at the reception desk, one of our nurses will spend time with you to answer any questions you might have and help with preparations for surgery.

Surgery times may change for various reasons. Please check with a nurse or receptionist if you have questions.

Your nurse will escort you to a dressing area where you may be asked to put on a special gown, cap and paper slippers. Your clothing and other personal belongings will be placed in a plastic bag that will remain with you. If you have not previously signed a consent form in your physician's office, you will be asked to do so at this time.

If your child is having surgery
We encourage you to bring his or her favorite toy for extra comfort. Children may be brought in wearing their pajamas and socks. Please bring a bottle or tippy cup if your child can't drink from a cup. Formula should be 1/2 milk or formula and 1/2 water.

American Diabetes Month

One in 400 children has Type I or Juvenile Diabetes. For a child with the disease, that means a life of taking insulin, measuring blood glucose levels, monitoring eating habits, and careful exercise. As difficult as that sounds, a little planning goes a long way, according to the American Diabetes Association. Find out more about diabetes by clicking on any of the following links.
